REDF 2012 Benefit + Social Enterprise Expo Raises $1M+ to Create Jobs for Californians Facing the Greatest Barriers to Work!
700 guests celebrate REDF's 15th anniversary and honor REDF's Founder, George R. Roberts, and individuals who have overcome life's toughest challenges through work.
On September 18, 2012 at The Regency Center in San Francisco, REDF gathered directors, advisors, donors, and friends for its fourth annual Benefit + Social Enterprise Expo. This year, two simultaneous events - a benefit dinner and expo featuring the nine organizations in REDF's portfolio - showcased the power of social enterprise to transform lives and communities. Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed fantastic food, an inspirational program, and amazing networking before Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue put an exclamation point on the evening's success!
REDF's Board of Directors, event sponsors, and generous donors pledged just over $1 million to create jobs and employment opportunities for thousands of people overcoming challenges like homelessness, incarceration, addiction and mental illness. Supporters are also helping to take this model to scale in California and, eventually, around the country so that tens of thousands more have the opportunity to work
