REDF’s Social Impact Report

Has REDF’s approach to social enterprise been effective in helping people move out of poverty?

75% of employees are still working two years after hire

This report shows just how much improvement our approach has generated. Our portfolio of social enterprises has been able to achieve real, measurable social impact. Most importantly, low-income individuals have been able to stabilize their lives and advance economically.

Over the course of our nine-year history, REDF has invested in 13 different nonprofit organizations operating a total of 35 enterprises. REDF’s portfolio businesses have employed more than 3,000 low-income individuals in such industries as retail, service and manufacturing.

View our Social Impact Report PDF [402kb] to learn more about the long-term impact of these individuals’ employment, including:

  • Employment status over two years
  • Housing stability
  • Average hourly wage
  • Criminal conviction rates
  • and more
