Community Housing Partnership is the only San Francisco nonprofit organization exclusively dedicated to providing permanent, supportive housing to formerly homeless individuals and families. Community Housing Partnership owns or manages twelve affordable residential properties comprising over 1000 units. These supportive residences address the needs of seniors, families with young children, emancipating foster youth, and adults with physical or cognitive disorders. Community Housing Partnership provides an essential and comprehensive network of services including employment training, job placement, a social enterprise, family and youth programs, substance abuse treatment and community organizing. These services annually impact the lives of 1,800 formerly homeless adults and children by supporting them in retaining their housing and leading stable, productive lives. In 2007, with REDF’s support, Community Housing Partnership launched Solutions SF, a social enterprise employing formerly homeless individuals while meeting the needs of building managers to operate clean, well-run properties. Solutions SF offers Lobby Staffing, Maintenance, and Bed Bug Solutions to their customers. Community Housing Partnership believes that formerly homeless people are uniquely qualified to serve in the organization. Tenants and other formerly homeless individuals are involved in all aspects of CHP, from daily operations to policy making on the governing Board. Over half of their current staff members were once homeless and many are graduates of the job training programs. REDF’s work with Community Housing Partnership Community Housing Partnership is currently expanding their social enterprise, Solutions SF. REDF is supporting the expansion of the Maintenance and Bed Bug business lines as well as enhanced support services to all employees of Solutions SF. |
