www.urbanstrategiesinc.org Urban Strategies helps communities build safe neighborhoods, good schools, and a wide range of comprehensive human service supports. Their goal is to lead distressed, urban-core residential communities and low-income families toward positive social and economic mobility. Urban Strategies rebuilds the physical and human infrastructure of redeveloping urban communities by partnering with neighborhood organizations, residents, developers, policy makers, institutional stakeholders and funders to transform public and private systems, and to support strong, self-sustaining families. Their operations include several large HOPE VI sites in St. Louis, New Orleans, Miami and Memphis as well as projects across the United States. Urban Strategies currently works closely with the national affordable housing property management company McCormack, Baron, Ragan to oversee Green Streets. Green Streets is a social enterprise that provides recycling and composting services at MBR-managed housing developments in San Francisco. Green Streets founders are young entrepreneurs who live in McCormack, Baron, Ragan properties. Click here to see a video about Green Streets.
