Rubicon Programs provides employment, housing, mental health, legal and other supportive services to more than 4,000 low-income individuals each year in some of the East Bay’s hardest hit communities. Rubicon’s mission is to prepare very low-income people to achieve financial independence and to partner with people with mental illness on their journey of recovery. Since 1973, Rubicon has provided employment, housing, mental health, and other supportive services to individuals who are very low-income, especially people who are homeless or have mental illness. Based in Richmond, California, Rubicon Programs offers services throughout Contra Costa and Alameda counties. Their social purpose business, Rubicon Landscape, beautifies commercial and public grounds throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. As a member of the REDF Portfolio, Rubicon actively engaged in an assessment process to measure the impact of social enterprise employment on its target population. The resulting Social Impact Report highlights key findings across several outcome areas including employment, hourly wage, housing stability, and criminal conviction rates. |
